On 21 September, the Foreign Trade Association (FTA) in partnership with the Ministry of Commerce of the Royal Government of Thailand will organise the Multi-Stakeholder Forum ‘Enhancing Social Performance in Thai Supply Chains’ in Bangkok, Thailand.
This day marks the start of an initiative that FTA is running with the Thai Ministry of Commerce which aims at supporting Thai companies to incorporate social compliance systems in their operations and supply chains, in line with the expectations of exporting markets.
The event aims to:
- Reinforce and acknowledge efforts by the Royal Government of Thailand to promote an ethical business culture by supporting Thai companies to strengthen their social and environmental performance
Highlight the importance of responsible business conduct by Thai enterprises in line with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights as well as market expectations
Demonstrate the strategic value of developing local business leaders and companies that will inspire others companies to engage fully with social responsible practices and build lucrative business relations
Provide the opportunity for Thai enterprises in the processing industry (food and non-food) to submit their expression of interest to participate in this initiative.
Registrations are open to Thai business and producer community, government agencies, international and regional development organisations, and other actors.
